Indosat Ooredoo, one of Indonesia’s major telecommunication providers, has booked a significant increase in revenue from its cellular business during the first nine months of this year due to increased data traffic. Indosat booked Rp 15.1 trillion (US$107.85 millio) in revenue from its cellular business during the first nine months of this year, a 14.5 percent increase year-on-year (YoY). This was thanks to a sharp increase in data traffic, which grew by 71.7 percent YoY during the Jan-Sept period. The company’s total revenue rose by 12.4 percent YoY to Rp 18.9 trillion during the Jan-Sept period, contributing to a 40.7 percent YoY increase in its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) to Rp 7.2 trillion during the same period.
